Feeding Guidelines: Horse Care Cubes is a complementary feed formulated to be fed at 5-9Kg/day with good quality forage and an adequate supply of fresh water. Horse Care Cubes should be split into a minimum of 3 ( preferably 4) feeds a day for optimum digestion and accompanied by forage at every feed. Forage provides many nutrients but is also extremely beneficial as a buffer to gastric acid, through its fibrous structure. The production of saliva, rich in its content of natural buffers, is stimulated by chewing time-another significant benefit associated with regular forage intake. Hay/haylage should be offered before concentrates especially if the horse is not at pasture as this helps to slow the rate of passage of the Horse Care Cubes through the digestive tract, so allowing maximum digestion time and nutrient uptake. |
